Michael Stefano was born on August 29, 1969 and worked in restaurants and hotels until 1997 when he met people who connected him to porn while he was working as a bartender. Since then he has starred in over 900 films and 3.000 scenes until an injury caused him to quit performing for a while during which he learned to edit and became interested in directing, so in the mid 90s he started his career as a director.
By the year 2001 he was directing for the company Red Light District and kept working until about nine years later when decided to retire from pornography in the year 2010, but the year 2011 saw him coming back to the scene, this time full-time until finally in 2012 made his definite retirement from the Adult Industry.
He was the founder of the adult-film production company by the name of Candy Shop which produced mainly interracial porn scenes and films. Stefano also founded another company which he called Michael Stefano Productions.
In the year 2004 he won an AVN Award for Male Performer of The Year, 2010 saw him being inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame, but before that in 2006 he was nominated for Best Sex Scene for Anal Fuck, alongside Sandra Romain and in the year 2009 he won another AVN Award for Best Threeway Sex Scene in The Jenny Hendrix Anal Experience. In 2011 after being inducted in the hall of fame, he won an AVN for Best Group Sex Scene in the film Buttwoman vs Slutwoman.
Michael married adult-film actress Jewel De’Nyle in 2002, but by 2003 they were already divorced.
